The
Council of International Fellowship
The
Council of International Fellowship (C.I.F) is a private voluntary
and non profit organisation founded in 1960.
Its goal is to promote human understanding through exchange programmes
for professionals in human services.
Founded by Henry Ollendorff, the first international exchange
program for social workers and youth leaders was arranged in the
United States after the Second World War in 1956 the Cleveland
International Programs - CIP - was founded. The main aim was to
promote peace and understanding among nations by bringing people
from different countries and cultures together to exchange professional
knowledge and experience.
In 1960, alumni of CIP founded the Council of International Fellowship
(CIF) with the desire to continue the spirit of fellowship, human
understanding and peace that they had experienced during their
CIP program in the USA. Today, the CIP program has evolved to
become CIPUSA
CIF continues to maintain close, personal contacts and co-operation
with the Council of International Programs, CIPUSA.
